Hello.

I owner MM Majesty and my string gauge 9-42 instead standart for Majesty 10-46.
Recently I had a problem with the lack of "flutter" effect.
I wrote a letter of support and received a recommendation to remove one spring in the middle and set the 2 springs like this: / \ not parallel.

Now I want to change to non-standard string gauge 9-46.

In general, are there any recommendations on the number and position of the springs at different string gauge ?

NO. All systems are unique to themselves and just have starting recommendations. Depending on the type of trem, the amount of flutter is really determined by the springs. Older, broken in springs are way different than new springs. Most trems don't really perform that well until they are really broken in. Then you change string gauge, etc. compounding the issue. The bottom line is what is optimum for YOU can only be found by YOU playing, making changes, playing again, etc. Learn to be your own tech in this regard. Floyds with big blocks, LoPros, Music Mans...all work the same in theory but the set ups are different in regard to spring tension and position. I play 11's at standard pitich and use 3 or 4 springs in parallel but each guitar is different. All mine can flutter fine although none of them feel like a set of 9's with worn in springs. The super spongy feel can only be had with 9's or less in my experience.

I am a heavy handed player and sacrifice some of that spongy feeling to use 11's, especially on 7 strings. I set my trems at neutral float but you can experiment with different trem angle to suit your needs.

Hi Konstantin,
going from 9-42 to 9-46 should work fine with the two V-shaped springs. Just tighten the trem claw a little. The flutter will be there...
