I love four strings & would NOT get a bongo 4... too much EQ for a 4 string. Sterling HH with pickup selector & 3 band EQ, nice
I do like the Classic 2 band EQ series too... all get the nod over the Bongo in the 4 for myself.
Bongo 5 EASILY wins. I actually really disliked a Stingray HH 5 last one I tried it but that could be the match up with a GK head & a GK cab... those 3 don't play nice, good individually though.

That's odd. Usually MM and GK go well together. Atleast for Flea they did.

Too much EQ for a 4 string?

Ahhh they're so cute when they're young.

Lol! Tuna seems like a set and forget it type guy when it comes to a 4 banger. :D

There's a reason I've played Bongos as my main bass for the last 7 1/2 years. Heck, I sold my Sadowsky when I got my Bongo because it would have only been a backup bass,

"Too much eq" ??!?
Well, you aren't required to turn the knobs; they can be left flat.
When the Bongo was first intro'd, I found that the ability to adjust low/high mids was a good thing...
That, and the pup blend on an HH is IT for me.
I've found that there are a lot of tricky/boomy sounding venues; being able to tweak certain frequencies from the Bongo pre-amp (along with my rig's eq) is a valuable tool

In a nut shell !

If you sit in your bedroom or man cave then unless you like different tones on every song you will prob never use the 4 band. However if your playing a different venue every other night that 4 bander will make life o so easy.

Side note, I am not suggesting you are only playing in your bedroom. Or a pasty faced .... Whatever bp called it

i have difficulty controlling the punctuation of my typing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which must mean that my statements are fact & not imo !!!!!!!!!!! Roar !!!!!!

Baby is sleeping, time to play the Bongo vs talk about it, nice!
