Lately I have been having a lot of issues with tone.

I have a Mark IV combo, and I love it.. but it sounds so dry without any effects, and I'm into space age sounds.

I don't want to buy a million pedals, and I was thinking about building a rack anyway. Besides, Hurricane Katrina ate my pedals.

As I'm maturing, so should my gear.

I need advice.

I'm thinking TC Electronic. I've always heard great things. Plus, a good rackmount tuner to start with as well..

What do you guys think?

I've heard great things when people have combined a TC G-major with a MarkIV...
I have a couple really nice tube amps (bilco hand wired, and a peavey jsx) that have no reverb....I simply use a decent delay pedal and that's all I really need.
I guess it depends on the music you're playing.

Good luck!

Multi your quest is over:

Although I have a 93' JCM 900 High Gain Mst Vol MK111, 4X12 Celestion V 30's, running thru an Eventide Harmonizer H3000, Korg DTR1000 Tuner (to me the PINNACLE of sound, they are @ 10-14 yrs old)

However if I wanted to build a system now with current products, it would be with a Diezel 100w head (to be determined), Diezel 4X12 v30's cab, and a TC Elec G-Force pedal. DONE!!! How simple and what more needs to be added!!

@$6, 700.00 otd. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (just get a second job then)

Oh, can't forget the MM guitar - but you already have that!:):)

I use a Hiwatt DR103, which has no effects at all (hasn't even got a loop)

For effects Pete Cornish is excellent, but not cheap.

I've heard good stuff about the TC Electronics stuff as well, so they could be worth a look.

Try out the TC G-Major. It's not that expensive and has great sounds.
Plus it has a built in tuner.
I use it with my Engl Screamer, a Marshall 4x12 Slash Sig. Cab.(V30) and my two lukes and it is very versatile and great sounding.
