Sounds like it is an EBMM neck with the Axis logo removed, but a custom body that replicates Ed's main gold quilt. The seller also says something about it being from 2000... the first "Axis" guitars were built in 1996. If it stays in the $500-600 range it may be worth picking up... if it goes much higher then that I would get a different used Axis.

The Axis EX is the one that was made that looked just like that... they were made for the Japanese market... I think there is a pink one in the for sale thread if you are interested.


Edit: the mods were done Jan 2000... it sounds like it was a 96 Axis to start with then... it also mentions that there are different pickups and the trem was changed. I wouldn't do it... but thats just me.

Regardless of who did the work, it's a parts guitar. They may all be really high quality parts, but it can't really be considered an EBMM anymore.
