Hello All,
I've had my Refelx since 6-20. I had to go out of town for work since then, so I really had my first opportunity to play it this morning when the house was empty.
I don't want to come off as a 'fanboy' who cannot critically evaluate a new guitar. Having said that, this guitar is already a game changer. There are many features of this guitar that are great. The 2 I'll focus on are the series/parallel switch and the tone control.
Between the options of serial/parallel, there is a wide variety of tones. They are easy to access, even in the middle of a song, and are musical. I should emphasize the word 'musical'. This switching option provides the player a huge palette of sounds that can be used to enhance the song being played. Further, they support many musical styles. I found myself covering rock, jazz, and country with very suitable sounds. This feature is *huge*.
I'm not sure what capacitors EBMM is using with the tone control, or any other specifics, but whatever it is, this tone control allows for very subtle to very obvious changes in tone. I do nto recall any other guitar I've ever played that had such a responsive tone control.
So, for any of you thinking about the Reflex. Go find one and try it out. Spend some time working with it. I think you'll be amazed.
Way to go to BP and all the great folks at EBMM.
