Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I have to buy left handed strings for my LUKE when it shows up. Hardy-har guys. :p

But I was wondering with everyone who owns a LUKE... I'm a 10-46 fan, and read that the LUKE comes with 9-42. I heard some potentially bogus rumor that changing string guage voids warranty...

Has anyone thrown 10's on there? Does it make a big difference with the bridge? I am thinking of putting on a Tremol-No, as it worked so well with my previous ball that I'd give it a try with this guy.

Also, I have read on harmony-central.com , that the second position combining the H and the middle SC is kind of a silly position as the H is so much louder.

Any thoughts with the warranty issue, the strings and the second position?

:D changing the tire of your car won't void the warranty why the hell changing string gauge will do that ?

a lot of people are using 10-46 never heard about any issues (maybe minur nut adjustment but nothing that could void your warranty I guess)

I think this is so with any HSS set up, and I think it's why it's important to select a HB that is compatible with the middle p'up, if you want to retain a good position 2 tone. But I don't see anything silly about it.

And hargwarsh on the string change voiding the warranty.

I don't know about silly, but the single with the full 'bucker on the Luke sounds nice to my ears. Same deal on the Morse with the bridge 'bucker and the tele pickup engaged- add some nice twang to the signal.

Only if you're Canadian... :D

If you go from 9's to 10's you'll probably have to reset the intonation a bit, but it certainly won't void your warranty.

Now, if you put those XL's on there -- yes, the warranty is then void. ;)

Wow.

Thanks for all the input guys and dolls. I will be throwing on 10's as soon as my doo-dad shows up. I suppose silly may have been the wrong word choice, but the overall feel of reviews was that the second position was just a little off-putting. I'll have to try it out for myself though!

I love the blatant attack on a foreign string-maker. Kudos, Beth. No sense holding back now... by month's end, the entire Canadian populous will be out for vengence over the ill words spoken of them up here.

I on the other hand, will hopefully be playing my rare and coveted leftwood Luke. Hahahaha.

I hate you people. Hahahahahaha.

Pffffft.

You're soooooo lucky that e-violence is all but impossible. I'd be bashing your motherboard like you wouldn't believe. hahahahaha.

It'll be worth the wait. I am sure of this much. But, what did Canadians ever do to you guys? I mean, other than making you all look bad in comparison is sports and burning down your White House in the early 1800's, we're practically your hippy pot-smoking younger brother.

Why the hate??!
