Adam, I'll be honest I've not played a Luke, But of the Axis, Axis Sport, Albert Lee, Silhouette, Silhouette Special, Sub 1, and JP6 that I've played Albert seemed the chubbiest, Mind you the Axis neck is no anorexic either !

Yeah I read that a couple of times. Its the narrownes that concerns me the most. I dunno. And the 3+month wait.

The wait is closer to 6 months....

Ordering an EBMM sight unseen - I would do at the drop of a hat (and did). HOWEVER, not sure I would order a model I never played before.

So far these are the EBMM products I have played; the Morse, Luke, Petrucci, EVH & Axis, and of course my beloved AL.

Each neck has it's own attributes that make it special for certain individuals. The only one that really took me more than a few minutes to get used to was the Petrucci.

That being said, I don't find the AL neck chubby at all. The instant I picked it up it felt like an old friend. It's not clubby and not chunky like some other company's Jeff Beck Model. Maybe you can see if you could either check out a gig of a fellow forum member that uses an AL or luck out and see one somewhere local.

Orange, where you at? See I'm not sure where "Wrong place at the wrong time" is, is that in Europe or something?

Pug makes a good point. There are those here that have these instruments and might be willing to let you check out theirs. :)

The AL I treid, the only one in Croatia belongs to my friend, and the neck is amazing.SO I have to be sure I'm getting the exact same neck. One thing I cant stand is a thin neck. Yesterday I went into the store and I pull this SB Silo, and I just cant get into that type of neck.
The neck my friend's AL has, is beefier than the Axis' I tried so far. I really liked that.

Hi Adam,

I'm no expert on this but based on my two silos, two necks of the same model can have a slightly different feel. From what I've read, it's due to the hand sanding.

Btw, if that's you on your music links, I really dig your voice, or rather the heart in your voice and playing. You got a natural thang goin on.

I actually ordered both my EBMM sight unseen and they turned out great. :)

They always do.

Contrast that to the burrito I ordered today sight unseen ... didn't turn out very well, thank you ...
