I recently swapped the necks on my two 5 string Bongos since I've been wanting to have a fretted HSC(p) Bongo for a while now.

The black sapphire neck looks great (IMO) with the white body and black pickguard. The white neck with the black sapphire body? :D I had a white pearl pickguard that I put on there so the white headstock wasn't so....lonely.

You'll also notice just how much different the satin white for the neck and the white for the Bongo body are--when I got the bass 6 years ago, they were the same color having been supervised in a special batch by Dargie who then removed white from the available Bongo colors because it was such a PITA to get them to match. And, now after all that work, the body still decided to change colors. I don't blame them for no all-white Bongos.

Although--I still think that white could be offered for Bongos with a black neck. You have the Stealth Bongos--you can add the Tuxedo Bongo and have an entire line of Secret Agent basses.

Heheheh, why did you do that? The white Bongo looks wonderful...but that Sapphire Bongo...

Either way, you have sweet basses.

I think it's because he's "been wanting to have a fretted HSC(p) Bongo for a while now"...:D

Someone gets a gold star.

And, the reasoning on the swap is that I will be taking two basses to gigs. Since I'll be taking the Big Al fretless 5H, I will want to take a fretted bass. And, I've wanted to gig with the white SCHp with the fretted neck for years.

The other homelier Bongo will probably get restrung EADGC and be used for recording.

The proper name for this combo is "Penguin Bongo".

Which one? I've never seen a white penguin (okay, one--but it was completely white), and I've never seen a black penguin with a white head. I don't know what kind of ****ed up penguins you hang out with, Jack.
