Jongitarz, thanks for clearing this up. I've always wondered if there was a difference between single H Bongo and an SR, and I'm honestly glad there is in your opinion. If someone already had an SR there would be no incentive to get a Bongo if they sounded the same.

Oh, and to Bovine: At how many Bongos does one make Lordship? I think we should follow the 200 post count it takes to become a Sr. member on this forum!

The Bongo and the Stingray are totally different...From the pickups to the preamps to the necks...Nothing is the same...Except the quality...Oh, and the tuners and the bridge (OK strings too)...But other than that...NOTHING!

I am looking to order a new fretless.

Thinking about another Bongo to go with the fretted Bongo I have on order. The sales guy - who has always been a straight shooter with me - said that the single H by the bridge is all that is needed for fretless and that the neck pup would just muddy the fretless sound. I do use the bridge pu more on my current fretless.

I am wondering about the HP setup. This would give the single bridge pu a 4EQ instead of a 3EQ.

Thoughts?

Also looking at G&L L-2000 fretless (please, no rock throwing!!!), only because it has humbuckers and EBONY fingerboard. I also figure it is a close cousin to the MM since Leo F. had a hand in the creation of both.

Again, thoughts?
