I finally paid for my first BRAND NEW STERLING BASS!!
I ordered it from bass central.
They were great to me. First of all I e-mailed them I cant even remember how long ago.. Probably january.. Wondering how much it would cost to custom order a sterling. Grasshopper got to me first and told me that there was a similar bass that they had on order a few months and ernie ball was about to begin building the bass. However Grasshopper told me they could morph the bass to my specs. I was excited and wanted to order the bass then but I wasn't ready as I was saving my money to buy an engagement ring. I was just looking to get a quote on a custom order so I could start saving.
Grasshopper told me that if I wanted I could just put a downpayment on it. A downpayment on a bass that was being build how I wanted? I have never heard of that. Your always required to pay in full for a custom order..
I thought it over for about a week. Went back and forth on fretboard and headstock. I even e-mailed them about 3 different configurations I wanted and kept changing my mind.. Grasshopper had to call me to ask which combo I really wanted. I told him Honey Burst H/S Rose Wood and Matching Headstock.
They gave me a great deal on the bass with last years pricing. I then put down 500$ downpayment.. He seemed really cool about everything people usually put down 3-400$ as if I could put down less if needed.
My bass came in about a month and a half later. However I had so much stuff that kept poping up to pay for. I still hadn't proposed. I promised full payment within about 3weeks. However three weeks went by and I still didn't have the money. It just seemed like every week something came up.
BUT TODAY I FINALLY GOT THE MONEY ONCE AGAIN AND CALLED AND PAYED FOR THE BASS. Cant wait to get it.. Sucks that I took so long I could have just started a new order.
I really just wanted to give a big thanks to grasshopper and Basscentral.
