I was looking over at my JPX this morning and was struck with an idea. What if the lower horn were chopped up a bit? The bevel is cool and all but what if that were hacked off for a huge cut away?

Well, after a bit of thinking about it, I remembered the Stallion is supposed to have a huge new cut away and thought I might be on to something. So, I had a friend of mine do a few mock ups, and after about half an hour of trying to explain my idea to a non guitarist we got a cool result. If it weren't so late at night here, I probably would have just grabbed my guitar and drive over to explain what I wanted better, but we got there, so I can't complain. It's good to have artistic friends/people that can work Photoshop.

The results are attached. the first is the original idea, and the second is a bit of an after thought, that while ugly at first sight, has grown on me a bit, and I imagine could be a great looking guitar with a bit of work on the upper horn. I'm getting a Cloud guitar vibe from the first.

But for now enjoy the pictures, feedback is very welcome. I hope this hasn't been thought of before, or time has been wasted. Also, I hope this isn't against any rules or anything, this was done entirely out of love for my JPX, curiosity for the Stallion and for a bit of fun.

In the event that I have guessed exactly what the Stallion will be like, I will accept one for free as a prize.

The first reminds me of the BC Rich Eagle. I don't think I like the nubs on the second. My guess is that the changes will be more than just the horns.

Well, that is one thing to consider, even more so taking into account that the latest guitar they came up with is a neck through... Still that can mean nothing, if JP isn't into neck through guitars, they'll surely find a way to stick with their current 5 bolt design while making the upper fret access even more easy...
