Recently i've spoken with my bass teacher, who also plays mm, about what would it take to switch from mm basses (and guitars, since i play both).

Couldn't find a single reason to do so.

So let's make this as ludicrous as we can.

it should:

* play everything by itself
* print out valid currency
* do chores
* take the dog out for a walk
* make sandwiches
* backup up cell phone contacts

and please...continue...

Even then I couldn't find a reason"!!

Well, if I need to find a reason: it would have to "print" money - just like our dead beat government does.

I don't play MM basses because they're MM basses. I play them because they make the sound I want them to make, are very well built, are a terrific value, have an aesthetic that appeals to me, are easy to adjust and the ergonomics are fantastic.

The name on the headstock doesn't really matter to me. If somebody builds a better bass then sure, I'll switch.

I haven't run into one yet. Don't expect to, either.

Well put
I have personally tried, owned pretty much everything that i can think of an it all comes down to personal taste so i chose MM for that reason, i cant think of anything that i would want to swap for ? MMs cover everything that i want out of a bass, sound great, feel nice to play, make you want to play !!!
its all good :) so yeah, I'm a fan of them :)

Serious or not, this post is brilliant and sums up my thoughts much more eloquently than I could.
