I switched to a GK 1001RB after having an SVT CL for a long while and I was really excited about the fact that the GK wasn't 80+lbs :)

so anywho... after having an SVT i never thought id complain about weight of an amp again... but after I got my little mark ive gotta say the weight thing is a huge deal. its merely 6lbs and fits in easily my backpack. IMO its a no brainer kindof amp... sounds great, light, small and well preiced

500 watts, 6 lbs, low price point, I could see how that would start a trend. But they also sound great. This isn't a contest, whatever you play(GK, Ampeg, Markbass..etc) it's about the music right? Sometimes I wonder if people love the gear more than the actual music. If we all spent a 1/4 of the time actually playing our instruments as we do talking about gear we'd all be better musicians.

Well said - and (not surprisingly) very funny... :D

To each his own guys - and unfortunately, unless anyone of us is fortunate enough to have someone else haul our gear around and set it up for us, well, the reality is there is a certain amount of practicality we all must deal with.

I recently shed 90+ lbs. and a few square inches but gained HUGE FAT tone and less visits to the chiropracter.

But hey, that's just me - YMMV... :)
