Hey guys,

I signed up on this forum soon after i purchased my SR-5 about 2 years ago. I created a couple threads mostly asking questions. However, i now have a story to relate:

I attended an outside private party for which i was invited to participate in a reunion of sorts of my old high school band. We were asked to play between sets of the band that was gigging there. We hadn't played together for 33 years and in fact i hadn't seen much of them through that time. We never got together before hand and praticed anything but we all showed up mainly to see and talk to each other and hash over the good times we had back in the day. We basically showed up to play music together again and jam out and have fun for us and not for the party goers. We all knew it would be rough around the edges but we didn't care.

I was surprised that each of us kept up through the years musically although differently. Each of us having different taste in music now with different gear from what was the norm from years past.

I carried my SR-5 along with a Genz GBE600 head and played through (2) 1 x 12 Genz neo cabs. The bass guy from the main band asked if he could play through my rig and i agreed only if he would stay away from making any amp adjustments. He was using a Fender passive bass which is all i remember.

This gave me an opportunity to walk the perimeter of the place to see how my rig sounded. This is something i never have the chance to do and i was smiling all over the place. The sound was very distinct and very rich. It set in the mix very well. Can't say enough good about Genz gear!

After the party the bass guy thanked me but told me he was having difficulty hearing himself on stage from time to time. This really shocked me because i had no problem at all hearing on stage using the SR-5. With no settings changed on the amp but using a different guitar and standing in the same spot! People, this is the SR-5 shining in all its glory I love this guitar and its worth every penny i invested in it.

Anyway, I had a blast. I was even seeing some of our mojo coming back the longer we played together. We even got some compliments but it could of been the drink talking.

Just wanted to relay again a prime example of how good an Ernie Ball Music Man instrument really is and if you want to be heard invest in the finest and you will be a happy camper for a long time!
