Really.....this Bass is custom shop quality from the factory. I was looking over my 4H Bongo this morning and come to the conclusion that it could not be built any nicer or any better. This is a rock solid Bass.

The paint job is superb and looks so sweet.

Playability is #1, tone is unmatchable.

Pickups, hardware and tone woods used are top shelf.

The neck is comfortable and the neck pocket is airtight.

Frets and markers are perfect.

Nut and bridge tailpiece wonderfully made and installed.

The most powerful on board EQ in the world.

Tuning machines are smooth and flawless.

It's weight is perfect with perfect balance.........:D

I'm sure the usual suspects will turn up with cries for...let's see...

wider string spacing
no-pickguard option
different body wood
trans color options
maple fretboard
STB bridge

I'm sure I missed some.

I'd like to see some different finnish options, but other than that, I'm good to go with mine

Word.

I've been feeling the first inklings of Sterling 5 GAS pains, but when that happens I just play my Bongo and I'm all better. I don't need a different bass.

The only thing I can think of that would make the Bongo any better would be a headstock tip made out of something un-dingable, because almost every Bongo out there has that little chip.

But that ain't gonna happen, so it's just not an issue. You wince for a second when it happens, then it's done and you can get on with your life.

What's the deal with ebony? Why are so many requesting ebony fretboards for fretted basses? I could see it makes a difference on a fretless, because the string directly touches the wood but on a fretted? Is it for the looks?

An unlined fretless Stealth Bongo with ebony fingerboard and black-colored strings would be a really stealth instrument. Rosewood isn't as dark and it ruins the concept IMO.
