Music Man week at work, sent out two Stingrays yesterday, Blue Pearl and Blck, both maple. Had me smiling like an idiot. Makes me want to play bass now too.

Today I had a client come in to have me set up his bass - a 2008 LE stingray. BEAUTIFUL! That colour is more beautiful in person than any photo can do justice to. One very happy customer later...

I had a few new arrivals for stock to check and a found something I've never seen before. It won't name names but I'll just say it was a big name US acoustic. So I tuned it up and quickly checked the neck relief. It needed some work so I reached for my the appropriate tool and set to work. I ended up scratching my head for a few minutes wondering what the heck I was wrong and then it dawned on me - the truss rod was MISSING!

Still smiling over that LE Stingray. Wonderful.

Slingy, it was the strangest thing, a hollow neck with a hole in one end where the nut should have been. Nothing in there at all. Surely that means that not one but two people in a factory somewhere screwed up.

And I'm still smiling over the StingRays. They just beg to be played. It's so hard to put them down. Blue pearl is more beautiful than I remembered too.
