Off Topic Things I still haven't done....

I've just realised that this coming Christmas will mark the 30th anniversary of my first electric guitar (a brand new 1978 Fender Musicmaster - thanks Mum and Dad ).

What I've realised is that despite bashing away for 30 years now, there are many things within the great world of the guitar that I have still never done. These include:-

• Never tried an AC30
• Never tried an ebow
• Never ever tried an SG
• Never played a Bigsby equipped guitar
• Never learned to play any Stones songs
• Never figured out how to make a compressor do anything useful...

I will correct a few of these soon. Bet you've got a few too....?

Ive never ever persuaded anyone to by an AL. They do that all on their own! Pick an AL, any AL, and jam with a typical strat dude, the AL sells itself.

Seriously though, the one thing I really want to do but havent is to make an acoustic solo cd.

1) Bought enough Silhouette Specials. I mean, I've got more 20ths than I need, all in different pup configs, 1 JP6 is enough for me, the AL is enough, though I'd much prefer a trem and I've already got more or less what I want in other guitars. The Silhouette Special in both SSS and SSH is really what I need for my styles of playing. I need to expand on that collection.

2) Buy ONE Axis. I remember liking it when I tried it in Bangkok. Never liked the ASS because the neck was chunkier than the Axis, and it didn't feel as nice. I would LOVE to own an Axis BFR... If not for the price.

3) Buy a nice modern sounding high gain amp. (MESA?)

-Played a 20th Silo, Morse, Al, Luke, Axis or Morse.
-Tried a JEM (Must!)
-Tried a whammy pedal
-Swept anything remotely cool/well
-Broken a string on my JP6
-Played a gig (a real one)

Here's the big kicker:

Never learned Stairway to Heaven, Enter Sandman or any AC/DC, Zep, Eagles, Floyd etc.

I have been playing for over 20 years, and have never played around with alternate tunings. (Tune flat, drop D, open strings....)

Never grew past 5ft 6 inches tall but I'm not bitter!
Never had a night out or in with Paris Hilton (I think I better stop now - would she buy my balls for me?).

Things still to be done before I dye:

- play though Mick's amp collection
- play an original '59 sunburst
- own one of all ever produced EBMM guitar models
- add a Mesa Lonestar, a 7ender Tonemaster, a Diezel Herbert and a 7ender Twin to my collection
- get the rest of the band to do more regular rehearsals
- ...too much to mention...
