I am thinking about a markbass combo. Sorry, I'm not good with model numbers; but I am down to either the 2x10 combo or the 1x15 combo. I gig enough, so I need something reliable. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I have the LMII with a 1x15 cabinet w/ a horn. I get a full range of tones, but that being said am playing smaller rooms w/ no drummer. What sold me was the air rush on my legs from that big 15" speaker - very nice lows!! No mud.

Two entirely different sounds - personal preference...

But since you asked - 10s all the way! :)

I can't recommend the CMD102P combo enough!

I got rid of my SVT 4 Pro after I got mine.

But you really should give them a try first.

I know this is an old thread but my question applies I think.

I tried out some markbass stuff last year and at the time it didn't fit what I wanted. Then I got a bongo last January and currently running with an Eden nemesis rs210 with a peavey tour 210 as an extension. This does sound great, don't get me wrong but I was at GC today and was offered a brand new mini cdm112p for a really low price. I could sell my eden, buy this amp and have money left over!

Now, I am playing rock/punk-y type stuff and I like alot of punch without it being overly bright. I tried out the markbass with a variety of basses they had at GC and really liked it overall, plus I'm not getting any younger and the 29lbs will be a blessing for my back and muscles (I am on permanent disability due to fibromyalgia) . The Eden is just under 50lbs for the combo. The peavey actually provides some nice lows with my current set up and since that is the main issue I have been able to find with the miniMB, I am thinking it will fill out the sound live at volume. If I keep the peavey (until I can upgrade the ext cab) how do you think it'll hold up, soundwise, at small to medium venues?

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated because I need to make a decision this week to get the markbass at the price they quoted me.

You might want to consider the Genz Shuttle 6.0 as well. Also a light combo amp, and plenty powerful. Sounds great with my Bongo, too.

I have a mini 121p (in France, amp and music instrument are very expansive!) . With this, my Bongo and my SansAmp, I have a great powerfull sound. In a couple of month, I will buy a 2x10 with this. For a huge sound!

I absolutely love my CMD102P!

So do I, and I have only had it a month!! And we (me and my CMD102P) are still trying to... "get to know each other" before we go... all the way ;) lol but I am enjoying the 2x10 option more than the 1 x 15 for one simple reason, to me the sound seem to be a lot more defined, I can't explain it but if I close my eyes and play it, it kinda cuts through the air almost like an air sculpture I can see the shapes of vibes I produce with it, very distinctively. Don't worry guys I am not smoking any of that stuff and I am not a drinker either, its just my way of defining the experience.

Go for it man, you won't regret it.

I tried out the little MarkBass 12 combo and the Jeff Berlin combo with a SR4HH at GC a few weeks ago. The Jeff Berlin model (15 no horn) sounded great.

Those small MarkBass amps are great, not actually cheap, but good value for the money. And even the tiny MiniMark with its 2 x 6" speakers can be used in small venues at low stage volumes. However, I still prefer the massage of 8 x 10" speakers, so I enjoy that the MarkBass 104 HR is very light... :) it's the only (great sounding) 4x10 cab I've ever been able to lift and carry on my own.

So, all in all, a thumbs up for MarkBass, but give you play rock/punky style music you might want to check out the larger MarkBass gear and think about how much money you'd really get out of your gear if you sell all of it.

Thanks for all the replies and input. I am still on the fence but the price they gave me is about 50% off - but only on the mini w/ the 12" - so at that price I could still make some extra selling my Eden Nemesis. I'll figure it out in the next few days but any further info or input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!!
