I keep a couple of SR5s around because I'm nostalgic (and the 20th KILLS), but I've truly been all Bongo for a number of years now - and no ill effects, my vision's just the same, I can't complain.

Sig is in date, but I'm looking at the bongos for sale here and just think 'man, if I sold these basses I could buy those basses'

Ease into it. Start with one and see where it takes you. I love switching my main player from Bongo to SR5 every few months.
