This is the vid that convinced me to get a Bongo. That and everyone raving about them and then me trying one out for myself.

This is great, many of youhave probably seen it before no doubt...
Stan Sargeant plays his bongo.

Thanx for the link, it shows fine playing and awesome tone. It is always intriguing to watch someone play who strings the instrument backwards. My Bongo lust continues to build... :)

He's a great guy! :) Not seen this before, interesting slap technique and the Bongo sounds amazing, but frustratingly I get no sound at the end of the vid so can't hear the final bit, or is it just me?

Yeah, the last bit has no sound - and it looks incredible! I love the fingerstyle at the begining, just great. And yeah his technique is so cool, I guess it would have to be if the bass is strung the wrong way round.

Well Zak, if you really are buying a bongo surely you will need a big pile of money.

And besides, I've got first right of refusal on Madam Redrise, should Zak decide to sell her. :)

Interesting how Stan has that Bongo strung ... upside down.

Edit: He's got great choice in amps too (see my sig).

That striking technique he uses (where he's getting a "slap" sound from his index & middle fingers) is way cool. I've only seen one other person do that - but in a rock context in his case: John Entwistle (the Who).
