Hi gang,

I have a old JP (2002 mystic) she has a beautiful finish and an even better bridge pickup

does anyone here think that the older Dimarzio bridge pup is 'better' all round than the new D Sonic equipped JP's??

I just wondered If Im in the minority :)

Dont get me wrong the new JP's are just as good and especially for the dropped tunings(D-Sonic :D)

thanks

I think you're probably in the minority, but more power to you. I remember Pete prefers the old dimarzio.

Yeah I thought as much

but the only problem I face is that if I want a new JP(or another JP)

I will have to go with a second hand one, find a spare pickup(old one)

or I could just quite being that much of a tonal snob and live with the D-Sonic :p

how much have you really played on the dsonic? i tend to think if you bring home a new jp you'll learn to like it for its differences.

a good friend of mine has a fully loaded JP in mystic dream with a sonic in it

I have palyed it alot recently but find it quite hard to dial in a tone I can use with my existing JP ie. it would be hard for me to use both guitars live as I cant get used to the difference

Im sure if I bought one I could live with it though and find a way to get a sound I could switch between :)
