Hey everyone! I am new to the forum, so I thought I would stop in to introduce myself and say hello. My name is Steve. I have been reading the posts here for a couple of weeks, and I have to say that you really seem like a nice, well-informed bunch of people here. I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

So, your probably wondering why it took me so long to sign up...or, then again, maybe your not. :D At any rate, I really just wanted to wait until I had a reason to post. Today I was given that reason. I just ordered my first Music Man guitar. It is a carbon blue pearl EBMMJP model, with matching headstock. I have a bit of a wait ahead of me, and I am literally going crazy already, but I have no doubts that when that baby comes to my doorstep, it will have been well worth the wait. I have been in the market for a new guitar for months, and after trying many different makes and models, I have concluded that there just isn't a lot out there to be excited about these days. Then I recently played EBMMJP, I knew that when I didn't want to let the guitar go back to to it's owner, that it was the guitar for me. Add to that, the wide variety of beautiful colors, a fantasitic body designed with a guitarists comfort in mind, and Ernie Balls reputation for great customer service, and, well, as many of you already know, it wasn't a difficult decision to make.

Of course, I would be lying if I didn't say that dealing with Pete Dubaldo (Andropos) didn't effect my decision to purchase this guitar. After corresponding through email, in which, Pete was extremely helpful, I knew I was going to go through him to get the guitar. But, I have to say that after speaking with him on the phone today, that I couldn't be happier about the decision to go through Pete. I spoke with him for over an hour, and not once did I feel rushed, pressured, nor did I feel like I was putting him out or taking up his time. He took the time to answer all my questions, and make me feel comfortable about my decision to purchase this guitar. I felt like I made a new friend today, rather then someone just trying to sell me a guitar. And that is rare in todays world. So, if you are ever considering a new Music Man, give Pete a call. He will give you a great price, and treat you with professionalism and respect. I know that for me, my future Music Man purchases will be done through Pete, exclusively.

Thank you Pete. Thank you Ernie Ball. Ok, now I cannot wait to get this d*mn thing in my hands! :D

You'll get over it.

Welcome Steve, good choice of guitar, by the way.
Pete is a great guy and there's no doubt he will take care of you.

tvanveen: didn't know Pete had a store? Look at his signature! Link to his site is right there. Now you know where you're buying your next guitar! (smiley inferred here)

Thanks, SteveB. Yeah, there is no doubt in my mind that I made the right choice with the guitar, or going through Pete. The only problem is that I wish I had a little more cash on hand, because I would have picked up the Egyptian Smoke MMJP that Pete had to get me through until my Carbon Blue comes in. Oh well, I guess that gives me something to look forward to for my next guitar.

Why didn't you buy the Carbon Blue JP6 that Pete has in stock? Didn't want the piezo or matching headstock?

I have to keep meditating to keep myself from buying that sucka!

Hey Steve,

Welcome. You are right about this forum, we are a bunch of sweethearts!

Nice choice with the Petrucci, and another nice choice with the dealer, Pete is THE MAN!!!!! When you finally get your new Pet in your hands (in about 4 months) you will become addicted to EBMM's like all of us here. I think we are really a cult, all hopelessly in the power of our EBMM's. :D

Hahahahahaha...LOL. Well, if you guys start asking me to purchase new sneakers and get ready to ride the tail of a comet, then I'm out of here! :D

But, your correct. Pete is THE MAN! Thank you for the welcome, ernie. Pete and I discussed you a bit today. 26 EBMMJP's? Dude, that is just sick! I envy your collection. especially, those sparkles. You're an inspiration to us all, ernie! :D

Yeah, it wasn't even the Piezo so much as the inlays. The JP shield inlays are cool, but just not for me. Now, if that guitar had been a blue dawn, autumn redrise, or burn't apple, then it would have been mine! Regardless, of the inlays.

I know what your saying about the meditation bit. It took all I had to not say to Pete, "I'll take the egyptian smoke!" But, in the end I know I made the right decision. I just had to stay focused and get that carbon blue!:)

How's it going, tommyindeleware? I'm from Binghamton.

Hi Steve, welcome aboard! It was a pleasure talking with you on the phone and doing business, thanks for the kind words. I'm sure you will enjoy this forum (and your new JP when it arrives) very much!

Bowks, did you get the email I sent you last week?

SteveB, would it help your "meditation" condition any if I told you that I work full-time in the evenings at a pharmacy, and that I know from my training the only thing that will help you is "medication" to fight the addiction ? :D

I never got a mail, bloomin' silly system

I've just sent you a couple of addys via PM so please try those.

PS, If you're considering selling me on of the new JPs, I was considering the price difference and thinking I was better off ordering from you already! :p

Hey Steve,

Welcome to the forum! I know you'll enjoy your JP, I sure do mine. It is WELL worth the wait. So, now that you've got your first official post out of the way, don't be a stranger.

Oh and you're right about the folks that hang out here in the forum. That was also a great selling point when I decided to go Ball. I never seen such devotion or dedication to a product before. It was refreshing.

Anyway, looking forward to future postings,

Pete,

I don't think that helps. What *would* help, would be if someone wanted to buy some of my current gear. ;)

Hey scottie,

Thanks for the welcome! What model do you have? What color? I have to say that I have come to terms with the notion of waiting. I mean, it is so nice to know that my guitar is being built, as opposed to something mass produced, that has been hanging on a wall in a music store, played by hundreds of others before me. Don't get me wrong. I'm going crazy with anticipation already...and I have quite a wait ahead of me. But, when I open that case for the first time and gaze upon her remarkable beauty and craftsmanship, I will have forgotten that I even had to wait for it. :)

Surprisingly, the first time I played one of these, I really wasn't that impressed with it. In fact, I found myself wondering what was so special about these guitars. I mean, I could tell it was a great, well-crafted instrument. But, it just didn't click for me. Then, I played another one a couple of weks ago, which was set up very close to how my guitars are set up, and I was just blown away. I knew then that not only had I judged the Petrucci model wrongly, but that I had to have one. So, after reading up on Ernie Balls customer service standards and craftsmanship, coupled with Pete's invaluable help, I knew that this guitar was for me. I haven't even played it and I know I'm going to love it.

And you're right. The people here have been very cool, and very welcoming. It's nice to come to a forum with a friendly atmosphere, where I can just relax, hang out, enjoy myself. I'm looking forward to being around here for quite some time. Now if I could just get ernie to post some pics of his gremlin green MMJP for me. :)
