The song I cant remember ( I do remember the band was called Myth, ugh!)
It was probably 1979 or 1980
The place was a bar on Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield, NJ called Williams (no longer there)
About $40.00, maybe a few bucks more or less but definitely drank my weight in free beer for the night!

Top This One

PLASTER CASTER by Kiss
Coastal Carolina fair high school talent show...
we played the whole song, and then they let us play it again because the singer's vocal mic was muted the entire song.
we came in second place....I played a black gibson explorer, had on black parachute pants, and was sporting a kick ass permed mullet.

I'm also pretty sure I had a dangling "gold cross" earring and some black gloves with the fingers cut out.

shoot, there may have even been a bandanna tied around my leg....

I better stop

I WISH I had some pictures of that...I think it was actually in 1985.
I do probably have some pictures of my bad mullets from the early 90's...
Is there a mullet thread?

1- Rush, Bastille Day.
2- A small bar called Jilly's in Medford Long Island, NY. January, 1994.
3- $0.00

The drummer missed a critical snare drum hit, and for about 10 seconds we were all off the beat. It was the longest 10 seconds of my life.

Yeah, but you were playing Rush, so it probably sounded like you knew what you were doing anyway.

1. I believe it was "Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana. (Worst song ever, cousin picked it out since I was in his band, Quite a few years back)

2. Sorry, but it was at a talent show in some Elementary School.

3. $$ Nothing $$

First Gig, and I was young, so it was a fun experience

1. I think it was 'Top of the World' by the Carpenters in 1983  I was on bass in a functions band as a sprightly teenager...

2. At a local hotel for a birthday party, the hotel is now an old folks home :p

3. £15 - went towards paying for the bass!

Way to see any credibility whatsoever fly straight out the window...

FREAKISHLY similar to Rob's !:

1. Rush You (Baby Animals).
2. End of Year Bash for a Rugby League Club.
3. Absolutely no idea money-wise, but we also got paid in Groupies. :D

(I was actually a lead singer for a few years prior to the first guitar gig above)

One of the things you learn as a bass player is that the guitarist gets all the girls...

Until you switch to guitar :D

Memories......!

1. She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult, I remeber doing the guitar intro in the dark and when the song kicked in, our singer at the time came on stage with a high flying Dave Lee Roth Karate kick and nearly knocked the Bass Player off the stage, ha ha ha !

2. The Montrose Club, Liverpool, UK, think it was in 1986. A once dodgy nightclub where you can experience what us Scousers like to call a "Grab A Granny Night." Its so funny when the lights go on at the end of the night, to see the horror on the faces of people, as they suddenly can see what they've ended up with !

3. Didn't earn a penny. We were supporting an up & coming band at the time called Sudden Impact who had just been on a UK talent show called New Faces and we were all fresh faced teenagers, still at school, just climbing aboard the Rock & RollerCoaster for the very first time ! ! !
