Thumping, Sterling

I just bought a music man sterling and i noticed when i shook the body, something was thumping inside of it..Some one sugested it was a loose phantom coil, but i wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas, or this problem...and how long it should take to fix if i sent it all the way back to ernie ball.

i took that out to make sure, and its not the battery

Why not just take it to a local luthier to check it out? If it's the phantom coil you can just take the top pup out...

can someone explain to me exactly what a phantom coil is?

It's a third coil underneath the humbucker inside the pickup cavity. If you take the pickup out, you will see it hooked up underneath.
