Hello,

I've been playing for years and just got introduced to a Axis the other day and I was amazed (I don't get out a lot  ). I have no problem buying a used one but I am having problems finding any Stores that carry a big selection. I'm also interested in buying one with a 1 3/4 in neck. BTW, I live in the Los Angeles area and will drive to to audition a couple if I could find several.

Anyway... can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Easto

Easto, I know (but am not very crazy about them) that Guitar Center sells them and they seem to be the biggest deal of EB/MM guitars.

You'll probably have better luck buying them online instead. There are tons and tons of them out there and most people here will point in in there direction.

Just be sure about what you want and how much you are will to spend.

One final thing, if you do end up buying from GC, remember that EB/MM guitars come stock with the cases. If they give you a hassle about it, post a PM or email to Jonguitarz. They (EB/MM) want to know about this type of stuff.

P.S. I saw a blue dawn Axis for sale today when I was surfing at lunch. Looked like it had a Floyd rose trem and it had matching headstock, if you interested let me know. Blue dawn a discontinued color and very highly sought after.

Best of luck, Glenn |B)

No...Don't email me about that...I know what they do, and I think it sucks, but after they buy them from us, they are fre to do what they want(even if it does suck)....Besides I am just a humble repairman and can do nothing about it. :D

Jon, thanx I had either Brian or Derek ask me about that before and one of them wanted to know about it. Sorry for pointing in your direction about this, oh REPAIR GOD!!

Thanx, Glenn |B)

Better idea (if you buy from GC):

Walk in there with your wad o' cash, or plastic in hand, tell 'em you want the case with it included in the price, and that's that. They will NOT lose a $1000+ sale for a $60 case, I can almost guarantee you that. Also, you don't get jacked by paying extra for the case that you should get with the guitar anyway!

If they don't budge, they don't want your $$. Simple as that, and you can tell them that. If necessary, you can find some really nice deals online, including the 'Bay. (I got a brand new teal Axis in Feb '02 with case for $850...later sold to fund an EVH)

Good luck either way, bud! :)

On another note, I guess it's just a grass roots campaign that we'll have to rally on, boys and girls. Spread the word:

If you buy an EBMM from GC, demand the case to be included in the price of the guitar, as life and EBMM had meant it to be.

Would anyone take offense if I put this in the "rules of the road" thread? I just want to spread the word, not as an antagonistic/detrimental stance against GC, etc.

Oh, and Jon, it's humble gardener...gardener...get it right. :p
(Easto, it's an inside joke, pay no attention to the man on the keyboard here!) :)

No offense on my end dwf....I never had an issue with GC about the case. I usually wound up with more off than the sticker price. I negotiate hard and don't budge very often. I have had great dealings with GC in Va Beach....they know I go in there to spend money, but have no problem letting test drive all their stuff either!

Yes, a case should come with the axe at no additional charge...

Thanks guys!

I didn't realize that GC sold them. I guess I didn't look at that section of the wall.

BTW... as previously stated, I too have spent a fair amount of cash at my local GC and the assistant manager and I get along quite well. He knows that I go in their to spend money and not to see how loud their amps will go. :)

Ok, 1 more thing and I'll sit down.

I see that GC has a Flamed Gold Axis with a maple neck. What price should I throw at them?

One of the things I like about EBMM guitars is that they're so consistently well built that I don't feel I have to play one before buying it - as long as the instrument is in good condition and hasn't been modded, buying from Ebay is a viable method of acquisition for me where Axises are involved. On the other hand, I would NEVER buy a Strat from Ebay, as they range from really good to utter crap in any given model line, ime, and you can't tell one from the other until you've played them...

Right, the case is supposed to be included in the price, unless it is a SUB model (not sure on the Bongo, havent gotten one of those in yet)
