Greetings all,

I have in my possession a gorgeous natural fretless MM Sabre. I'm thinking of using EB super-slinky strings on her and that got me thinking about protecting the fretboard by having it epoxied. But I don't think I'm ready to ruin its vintage qualities.

Thoughts?

Regards,
Mark

Is the board ebony? After all these years, I'm sure someone has used round wound strings on it and it's managed to survive. I wouldn't epoxy the board. Epoxy will also change the tone (making it brighter).

Thanks all...I appreciate your feedback. I think I'll leave her unadorned and absolutely gorgeous.
