I just sent back my Petrucci BFR JP7 due to finish cracks around the neck joint (please don't hijack this thread about how I should not be concerned about them) that hopefully will be covered since it is still under warranty. Customer Service guessed it will probably take a new body.

For those who have been through this, how long did it take to get the guitar back?

I am in no rush as long as it is fixed right, just curious the turn around time from those who have been through it.

Thanks :).

Same thing with my BFR JP7, due to the relaxed standards at FedEx (I now use UPS only).

Took a few weeks...maybe a month at most.

I would ask customer service that if I were you, as they know best what the schedule is like and what needs to be done.

Someone I know locally had to send back a BS/RM for finish cracks. He had it back very quickly (I'd have to say less than two weeks.) It truly shocked me how fast he got it back. I could very well be off though, as I don't know a hard date on when he shipped it back. My JP is in SLO right now getting a piezo problem fixed. I hope it doesn't take long to fix that!

It depends... I sent a BFR Luke back for a body warranty issue and it took a little longer. It was a gorgeous flame top and they didn't have any real nice flame tops in the warehouse at the time mine went back. They didn't want to use just a run of the mill flame top for a BFR so I was offered a nice quilt but decided to wait for the flame top. I think it took a month tops though... Definitely worth the wait. I also got a call from the tech at the time and asked me how I wanted it setup. String height, floating or not... So I ended up with a personal professional setup too. Don't worry they'll take good care of you.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I don't have any worries about it. You can't have MusicMan's reputation without great customer support.

I will bump this thread when I get it back and tell the rest of the story :).

Well according to everyone that had a similar issue the wait does not seem long, I totally agree with you sending it back as that is what the warranty is for and EB CS is top shelf. Looking forward to seeing the makeover lol.

The shipping to and from SLO was longer than the time the guitar was actually in their shop, and I live in California.
