Ok So Smellybums firewood sale continues and soon my signature will have more balls and less "other brand" guitars

I can't quite justify a luke right now until all that $hite has been sold but was very impressed with the noises Tristen got out of a sub one when watching his videos so... couple of questions....

1. - who's got one, what do you think honestly - I know it'll be good but how does the neck compare to the naked wood ones etc...

2. - Does it come with a piezo option ?

3. - does it come with a maple neck ? - oooooooo man that would be good.

4 - Are they really that cheap or am I seeing a lot of used ones ???

If options 2 and 3 are available I'll buy 2!

I look forward to your comments

Right, it comes in hardtail & trem versions, Hum & Hum-Hum versions, and black or diamond plate pickguard. Finishes are textured colors, Teal, Red, Graphite, White, Black, and Blue. Rosewood fretboard is the only way, and there is no piezo option.

Sidenote, if anyone's lookin for a great one,
I've got one SUB1 HH Trem in Teal left.

I love my Sub1.Got it as back up to my Axis a couple of months back.mines is a HH,hardtail with thru body stringing.and cos its black i got a matching headstock free lol
..the painted neck and textured finish..well..you'll either take to it or you wont. what I will say is that this is still one tight made guitar....the fretting, the fingerboard,neck/body alignment, stability in fact everything you need for a reliable, quality, every weekend out working guitar is there.
Living with it these last 8 weeks or so makes me realise how crap my MIM f3nder Str*t was.Strung up with Heavy top, skinny bottoms 10-52's this Sub fair chimes and chugs and feels rock solid.
I'm now thinking this is a keeper even when I get my Silo Special.I'll maybe add a Roland GK pickup - I've always fancied a guitar synth and I think the sub will be a great utility guitar for that purpose

btw I added a black PG to mine just yesterday.heres a couple of pics

edit should read skinny tops heavy bottoms - like some girls I've known:D

There was a BIN rasberry colour one on the bay up until last night. I think it was ex-demo from a shop.

Got to say I did consider one myself...

Hey I've got an idea!

How about loads of UK MM followers clubbing together and going on a spending spree in the US?

I can just see the customs now...

"anything to declare sir?"

"no, nothing to see here, move along" (whilst wheeling an extremely large packing case through the green channel!!)

Someone I know just came through customs after a cruise in the Bahamas.... You are allowed to bring 1 liter of alcohol and 1 carton of cigs back into the country per person, duty free. He crammed his clothes into his daughter's suitcase and stuffed 22 liters of vodka and rum along with 4 cartons of cigs into his suitcase and just walked through. Sometimes it's a joke, sometimes you get nailed.

I go through US customs once or twice a year for last 9 years or so. I got stopped twice to go through extra screening and once they actually went through my stuff. Took them ~2 hours. It was NOT pleasant. They didn't find anything illegal or subject to fees, in the end.

I used to be a competitive shooter and would travel to the US for the National Championships.

Coming back through UK customs, I would always got to the red channel and declare my guns. After checking the paper-work, they would just let me through without searching the rest of my bags. It's amazing how many cartons of cigarrettes you can fit in a suitcase!!!

Now the SUB is a amazing guitar I've played one at Guitar Center numerous times. They are just what you would expect from a Music Man. But if you want a Luke why compromise for a SUB save the money for the SUB and just let it build until you can afford the Luke.

Just my two cents.

I would imagine SUB sounds very different from Luke. It's made of poplar, rather then alder, and doesn't have the v-shaped neck that luke has.
