single ply plastic vintage yellow by chandler......w/ f--der aged pickup covers.

the flame is alot more visible than the photo portrays.
the old brass knobs i had laying around for years. the knurled knobs are alot easier to work w/ my pinky .
I LOVE IT !!!!

I was thinking of doing something similar with mine (when I get it).
I've seen some nice "Parchment" and "Mint" scratchplate material.

Tommy there is no better S style guitar on the planet. I feel bad for Albert in that it has been really hard getting an audience for it. I sounds and feels so great

Guys I love mine and Tommy the new pickguard looks awesome man, I love it!!!!!!!!

BP. the AL has a Jetsons feel to it. A 60'ish rad look, but plays like a dream.

That is just one very sweet looking AL, Mr. Indelaware

I have also been thinking about changing knob styles on mine as well, but do I have to change anything else. I remember something about split shaft vs. solid shaft on the posts. Do they need to be changed as well? Can you change just the shafts or do you have to change the pots as well? (please excuse my ignorance)

Mr. Greene, not ignorance, just a lack of knowledge. Yah to change from the Str@t style knobs you'd need to change the pots. This is because the current ones are split post and for the Tele Style a solid post is needed. Jon did mine when I sent it back for warranty work and I'm glad that he did it. I think it makes it look more solid.

tommy,

Congrats, man! I am sooooo jealous! I played the Blue Pearl AL (and the other AL's) at the Open House, too... and I fell in love with the soul of those guitars.

Someday, if I think my wife will let me own 3 EBMM guitars and still live, I will get one. I think blue pearl is the way to go, SSS or MM90s, they both kill!

I was eager to try all the MM models at the Open House so I could pick my next guitar. The AL wasn't really on my radar, but I tried it, and now I want one! I ended up ordering a Y2D first because I loved it too, and I really dig quilt tops (and I have never owned one).

My next, if that day ever comes, will be an AL.

actually....i didn't change the pots. i just positioned the set screw on the knob so it is not able to bend the split shaft. while it does ever so slightly offsets the knob from center.....i don't notice it..........& it works just fine.
