My new Mystic Dream Petrucci gets here tomorrow - I have vacation to burn before the end of the year....so I'm taking tomorrow off....and going to play guitar all day long!!!! Hopefully UPS comes early...and not late.....

Those of you who had guessed ...after 4...4:15...were right!!! I had given up...and was pulling out of my street to head to the gym....when I saw the UPS truck...and made a U-turn. Let me say...that I haven't even plugged it in yet...but this is a gorgeous...beautifully made guitar....plays perfectly....

Going to plug her in shortly....waiting for the furniture repair guy to finish....

Just a quick question...how do you treat/care for the neck?? I have 2 Wolfgangs...with unfinished necks...and those I clean with lemon oil and a tooth brush.... What do I do for the JP6 neck???

Hehe...I'll try to get some up soon...

First impressions...plays perfectly...seriously...I love my Wolfgangs...but this guitar may play even better...perfect action.... Makes me nervous about putting .9s on it because I'd hate to mess with what is a perfect set up right now.

I keep nailing the toggle switch though.....I did the same with the Petrucci Ibanez...I had forgotten about that...but...that's going to take getting used to.....also...I keep turning the guitar off...when switching pickups...because...I'm used to where the toggle is on my Wolfies...hehe.

Not too sure about the pickups...Unfortunately I play a Vetta...and have my patches all tweaked for SD JBs...in the bridge... These p/u's don't seem quite as hot.... I'm hearing a difference....but I have some more playing to do.... May have to make a p/u change....which...is a pain...

Well, I have a Vetta II as well and I have no problems with the JP's running through it. Obviously, you have several channels to choose from, make one for the JP. I would hold off on the pup change until you made a patch change. Then decide. I did a pup change on one of my JP's and like it. The other two are original pups. Tweak the amp first.....then see.

Congrats on the axe.....I have the same one and it is a killer color.

I'm also noticing that I have to be careful how hard I play...or hit the guitar...especially if the tremelo arm is forward...because you get a warble from the vibration of the trem arm...but ..by the same token...I can do that little Satriani...hit on the arm..and get that warble on purpose too... I just need to have the arm 90 deg from the bridge during normal playing.

The workmanship on this guitar...is superb!! I can't say enough about it...
