I recently exchanged my Sting Ray 4 for a Sting Ray 5, I personally can't notice a big diffrerence in tone which could be my deaf ear  will this sound different through a bigger amp setup tone wise ?

Thanks,

Tony

Picky little girls will chime in and tell you that the SR5 doesn't get "exactly" the Stingray 4 tone. Most of those girls are listening in some kind of sterile environment, bereft of other instruments and/or drinking patrons.

Now, putting on my Picky Little Girl t-shirt, I will say that there seems to be a bit less 'edge' to the Stingray 5 tone overall.

Taking off my Picky Little Girl shirt and putting on my Bassist In A Bar shirt, they both sound really good live, and the differences are minimal and no one but you will hear it anyway.

Bov, do you realize how many doctors you've just put out of work by revealing that quick-n-easy procedure for a sex change? :p

Thanks Bovine(host) !! It sounds really great through a compressor (Bass POD). I've had many comments on the color of this beast also, but overall, It's a Sting Ray ;)
