A quickie for those in the know.

Could someone please tell me what the capacitor value across the tone pot is on an EBMM JP guitar?

Ya gotta love the labeling scheme for capacitors...

Other than questions like this it's a shame I don't get a chance to use my electronics background more... that was some neat stuff.

Hey- no problem.

I could see better caps making a difference in amplifiers (tigher tolerences, etc.), however I don't think there's going to be any kind of difference for a passive filter / tone control.

A bigger cap - .047µF like on the Morse - would give you a better range for your tone control, though.

I'm sceptical that it will make a difference either, but I might try one just to see if it does have an effect.

If it doesn't , I'll sell it to some unwitting PRS player for a silly amount of money :D

+1
caps don't affect your tone if u play w/ your tone control all the way up.

Just clip the wire and take the tone pot out of the circuit. I did. I kept hitting the tone knob and turning it down. I like the tone knob on full all the time, and just change the volume knob.

Yeah- but taking out the pot *will* change your tone. You'll be adding resistance to your pickups by doing that which will make them brighter.
