This may be a redundant question to those who frequent this forum, but why doesn't the axis guitars have a tone control for the pickups?
Thanks

Not exactly sure why, but the Axis was a successor to the EVH which only had a volume control, so likely they just kept the same specs for the same market.

The Sport and Super Sport then came out "sporting" additional configurations.

I personally think that some of you guys just cant HANDLE 2 knobs :D! I use volume and tone knobs all the time, and on the Luke they work so perfectly. Cant wait for the 20th Silo.

I use my tone controls on my Albert Lee all the time, but not so much with the humbuckers on my Steve Morse. I think they're much more effective with single coils than buckers.

Imo, tone controls are much more important if you're using more than one guitar on a gig. Otherwise it's likely that you'll have to make tone adjustments to the amp each time you switch.

I've never been a big fan of the tone control- often wired it up to control something else.

That is, until I started watching Steve Morse work the tone control. What a technique! Who needs a wah pedal when you can work the tone control like that :D

How true ...
Steve is always using his pinky (changing the pickups, the volume, the tone).
A good example is in the video with Living Loud, during the song Every Moment A Lifetime (for me the best song of the album).

Even if you don't use the tone control, it doesn't hurt you to have one. And perhaps one day, it will save your skin (try to have a jazzy sound for instance ...)

Hasta luego
