I need some input on the tone in this video, i used my ax40 with axis pups. The sound im going for is a stock 5150 with no effects, except a little reverb and delay, i have been tnkering with this sound for weeks and am somewhat happy with it, because i dont have a real 5150 ( yet) or 6505. Sorry for the crappy playing, but im more focused on the sound and feel, i tried to capture that spongy bouncy feel of the chords and screaming harmonics. I really want those of you with real 5150s 6505s to tell me if im close, i know its gonna sound a little digital, thats unavoidable with software, and i only use this to practice with, please give me some info on whats good and what is lacking. Thanks.

Sorry for the crappy playing...

Hi Eric,

Well, your crappy playing sounded very good to me. Other than the hint of digital, in that it doesn't have that basey warmth you get from the tube amp, your tone sounded very close to what you're after. I think you pretty much nailed the brown sound. It's a little thin when you hit chords, but again, that's the software. It sounds more convincing on the single note runs; more like the 5150.

Great job! Your playing was wicked pissa.
