Hi guys, jus like to check with you all on the tone of my recently acquired JP6 fully loaded. When I use the bridge pickup, it doesnt seem as "fat" or "chunky" as compared to my les paul or Ibanez, is this normal? or is this becos I did not set up well??

what ibanez? the les paul is weighs abous as much as petrucci the man not petrucci the guitar so its gonna sound bigger and heavier. the jp6 is basswood so it gives up a little low end but imo it more than makes up for it in focused mids for a little tighter rhythms and singing violin like leads...chances are your amp has knobs so when you play a different guitar youre likely gonna need different settings. what string gauge did your guitar come with?

Im comparing it with my RG 550 ibanez and my Jem7v... the tone on them sounds a little "fuller " on bridge pickups. Im now using regular Slinkys 10-13-17-26-36-46 on my JP 6

Also the JP6 is 25.5" scale length and the Les Paul is 24.75" scale length, and Mahaogony. So the Les Paul will be much darker and the JP6 more articulate and brighter. .

ahhhhhhhh memories!!!
reminds me of my custom built Tele - Gibson Scale length, light mahogany body, Cherry finish ( a la Gibson SG) ebony fretboard. Two stacked humbuckers - Bill Lawrence / Seymour Duncan.

Gave it to my son cos I only play with my balls now !! :)
