Tony Levin and his peach SR5

Excellent photos! That is a really cool color. Was that a standard color or an artist one-off?

Peach. It was one of the 'special', non-standard colours at the time. As far as I know it was offered in 1988/89. I love it - my favourite EBMM colour!

Have not posted here in a very long time but I do check in from time to time...

I do not need another bass but if one was offered in this color (in a SR4 unlined fretless) it would be a very hard thing to not pick one up!

Fabulous pictures - if a Musicman in peach does crop up used, there'll be half a dozen of us bidding.

Limited run Stingray Classic and SR5 in this colour please!! I'd be very very tempted to buy if they were offered.

Peach was a short lived custom colour at extra charge - the others available were vintage sunburst and trans White - peach seems to have been replaced (possibly) with butterscotch, which is also very rare (all this per the EBMM documents which the seller sent with my 93 fretless - which includes a review of a Stingray quoted from Roger Sadowski!). The colour selection seems to have widened in the mid/late 90s and the custom colours ceased.

In several publications I’d read about Tony Levins peach-coloured Musicman Stingray 5 he used in Concerts with Peter Gabriel. I think there are not so many SR5 available in this rare colour. May be, I own one of them. Because of the serial-number 50175 on the bridge I think that the bass was build in 1988 and the colour seems to be “peach“. Except the black pickguard it looks like Tony Levins SR5.
Who can help me to find it out?

That looks like peach - you should be able to check the details in the serial number checker on the main EBMM site or by following the link to it in the sticky thread at the top of the first page of the bass forum.

50175 is a very early SR5 and as you say they’re very rare in this colour, though one person I know of has two.....:) Do you want to sell yours?!! I’d certainly be interested.

A copy of Tony Levin’s bass would be a very cool artist series bass for us to buy IMHO.
