and the "security" guy at the door was just loved it and I assured him that I wasn't trying to sneak it in to replace it with one of the 2 "lovely" mexican Str@ts that they hide in the back of the store. Actually they had only 1 Str@t and the cheapest Ib@nez ever. I think it was made of paper mache'. seriously.
So anyway, I'm sitting around trying different amps and at least 9 people came up to me and asked what i was playing. It was like they have never seen a EBMM before. I know, I know, i'm left handed and they all look strange to most people, (_______insert random forumite name here. :p) but 1 guy asked where in the store I got this guitar from becasue he wanted one. he actually yelled "GC carries left handed Ernie balls, Woohoo?!" it pained me to disappoint him. Then I noticed that they really had no EBMM's, but it's encouraging that GC will be carrying more in the future (from a previous post.) This one older gentleman asked me if i would sell it to him, right there on the spot. (apparently a $150 Str@t was not for him. strange)
I held on to it tight, it almost felt like a guitar jacking was gonna happen.
My point is, that I have been to GC and other music stores a thousand times and NEVER have I been questioned more times about a guitar, i brought with me, than that day. it was crazy. Actually, no one has ever asked me before I got my EBMM.

They really are a conversation piece as well as being the best guitars ever made.

Just thought i'd share that story. This ever to happen to anyone else?

oh yeah, I bought a B-52 AT-100 Tube Head and cab. Nice!

Great story dude!

Next time I go amp shopping, I'll have to try that. I can imagine the buzz you created when you pulled that blue beauty out of the case, making some of those mexican made wonders hanging on the wall look like 'juniors first axe".

If I took the Dargie to test drive some amps...I think that would cause some shiiite! haha

Yep. Any time I bring an EBMM into a store I always get some reaction - mostly from the staff! :D

Whenever I bring my AL into any gear store, people are all over it! The different shape brings them to see it and then I let them play it - the tone, oh the tone! I have had offers to sell it as well - but as you can see, the guitfiddle is still in my sig! ;)

I brought my guitar in Alta Loma Music (mom and pop store where I took lessons for a while---store's gone downhill since) years ago for a complete going over and when I came to pick it up 4 people where mesmerized by the blue quilt. Needless to say we all talked for a long while about the guitar and EBMM in general.

This is actually a great story. This did happen to me. Unfortunately I wasn't playin the ball. :( .

I was playing my J@ckson. I didn't buy it, I was just messin around. It was a guitar that I wanted. So after 3 months, my parents surprised me and I woke up finding a guitar case with the J@ckson inside. ( I payed for it ) But I know this will happen with my future Petrucci. :D

Congrats and great story. And B-52's are great. Have fun ;) .

Didn't you have a B-52 AT-100 head already? I remember you posted pics from a gig with that head a few days ago.
Here it is:

Very cool story.

I've only taken my JP to a store once, to test out acoustic amps with the piezo, and the sales dude was floored by the tones it was getting. Also, some kids (7-11 years old) came in and kept looking back at me and my guitar. I was like, "Aww yee. Representin' the MM, yo." Desert Gold is a very look at me colour.

Lefty, how's that B-52? It's on my list of possibilities...

it sounds great. it was between that and a Mesa, and this B-52 really sounds like a Mesa, for less than half the price. Mesa has the "triple rectifier," this has a "tri-mode Rectifier" which is like the same thing, they just couldn't use the name for obvious reasons.

I highly recommend it. My Luke never sounded better!!
