Hey all. After over a year or more of hankering, I am in the position to get a Bongo in a spec I'm happy with. It also happens to be in stock with the UK suppliers.

Bongo 5 HH, Sapphire Black, Black Pearl Guard

Normally I don't go for straight black, but as its that almost dark grey/blue tinged metallic black, Im more than happy. the black pearl guard is unusual but I kind of like the look of it.

I have no idea what to expect from the neck/overall feel. Im also quite excited to hear those first few notes!

I can see myself favouring the bridge pup for the extra bitey compressed funky tone...

It arrives on Saturday, at the latest.

+1.

Locally, my 5HH is known as The Infamous Orange Boingo.

And likewise, I'm not a Boingo fanboi. I even sold one of mine.
But there's no denying it. Other basses cannot mimic Boingos
[altho I say that having never tried the Big Al nor the Reflex].

I'm a Bongoloid and I approve of this decision.

I strongly suggest that before you plug it in, sit down with the bass in your lap and play it acoustically for a few minutes.

Bongos have a living resonance unlike anything else I've ever experienced.

Soon the movie will be alive,
just by opening the ears you'll loose all your fears,
the sweet sound of a Bongo will arrive to you Movielive.

You've reached out for the best,
the ultimate bass in Big Poppas music nest.
So feed the Bongo well, be good to him,
let him rise and shine, the Bongo will pay it honestly back, really fine.
