Hey Guys

It's been a while since I have posted, I hope everyone is doing well.

A little GAS has hit me once again. After a few years doing the JP BFR6 and the reg JP7, I've really been into the idea of ordering a new standard JP6 fully loaded Mystic Dream....there's something about that colour that I can't get enough of. I really miss the feel of my old JP, I actually regret that I sold it. So I'm going to make it right and get a new one!!! :)

So my question is, are there any preffered Toronto area EB dealers? I'm sure they are all great but do any stand out above the rest? Does EB allow direct ordering to Canada or U.S. only?

Thanks Guys

Matt

I’m sure you know all the stores in TO like L&M, Steve’s, 12th Fret, LA Music and a lots of small shops.

I’ve only bought from Long & McQuade. Best prices IMHO.

For some reason, their Oshawa store always seems to have the most balls.

Check out L&M website for the Shwa address.

Easy to get to as I come in from Scarborough along the 401 then north up Simcoe St.

I know it's a bit out of town, but you should really check out The Arts in Newmarket. Very good selection, great guys, and very supportive of MusicMan.

If you drive, it's only 45 minutes up the 404.

They've done right by me many times.

The Guitar Shop
Ask for Brent. Tell him I sent you.

The Guitar Shop - Home

The 12th Fret
This place is awesome as well. Beautiful shop. Great presentation.
My only gripe with them is pricing.

What's new, guitars, banjos, mandolins, amps

.

+1 For these 2 stores. Brent's a cool guy. And the guys at The 12th Fret are cool, too. You can ask for Mike McAvan at The 12th Fret. He's a buddy of mine and a Ball player, too.

Do yourself a favor.......shop around. With all the stores mentioned in this thread, you will definitely find much different pricing. It's worth taking the time to look around.

Hi Toronto experts,

Sorry to bump an old thread but decided to use this instead of making a new one.

I'm traveling to Toronto this weekend. During my visit I'm set on visiting L&M Burlington for something blue (;)) but I'd like to know what other places you consider as great EBMM guitar dealers with a good stock? Has anything changed or are this thread's places still the best?

I heard that Gear Music in Oakville isn't an EBMM dealer anymore and they still have one Game Changer to get rid of. L&M had the Game Changer also for sale at some point. Anyone know which locations still have them in stock (I think Guelph at least according to Local Store Specials on their website)? 12th Fret has also a used 25th Anniversary for sale.

If you've spotted any great deals, new or used, feel free to share. I know that prices are not to be discussed here, but all tips are welcome. I'm especially interested in Reflex guitars, but LIII's and JP's could do it too.

It's my first trip to Canada so I'm naturally pretty excited. Cheers!

LA Music in Mississauga would be a good place to start. From my experience they always have lots of EB Guitars.

So, it sort of depends where you're staying and how much time you have. The GTA is huge and things are a long way apart. Traffic is AWFUL normally, and this weekend one of the major arteries into the city will be shut down, so it's going to be slow going.

Sounds like you have plans west of the city (Hamilton/Oakville/Burlington/etc.). Slightly west, LA Music is great too. If you're in Toronto proper, you have 12th Fret, a few L&M Locations and a few odd stores (Steve's, but doesn't seem to have much MM anymore). North of the city you have Cosmo Music (it's huge and a great store to visit), and well north you have The Arts. There are probably more ... that's just what I know off-hand.

My advice would be to call or go online before you visit to check stock. And definitely plan your drive- it'll probably be slow this weekend downtown.

Have fun!

The Guitar Shop in Port Credit is very good. I've known Brent for a very long time (20+ years). Be warned though..never trade in with him, he is a cheap bastard and will low ball you to the extreme!

LA Music across the road has great stock but I would absolutely never buy a thing from them because I find the owners a bit slimy based on my experiences from buying from the in the past.

L&M in Brampton is outstanding! They have a white Luke in stock, a couple of EBMM JPs (one in mystic) as well as an Axis. Avoid L&M in Mississauga as that is the worst store in the chain. The L&M Burlington store is decent if you can find someone to help you...its a poorly laid out store though so be warned.

Great suggestions from everyone, thanks dandegeit, beej, mroth90 and PBGas!

My visit lasts until next week's Sunday and I'm fortunate to have a local friend showing me places like Niagara falls, proper Toronto and Oakville, where I'm residing during my stay. Should be able to stop by in few stores you mentioned in the upcoming days.

12th fret seems like a good choice and I totally forgot about Cosmo and Art. Thanks for bringing up LA Music and L&M Brampton, too. I have a PDN order in Burlington so will visit there for that reason. They mixed up my order and haven't been the easiest to be in contact with, but helpful people nevertheless.

I'll keep your tips in mind and let you guys know what I find and possibly end up buying. :)
