Tort guard?

Are the EBMM tort guards photo or real tort?
I was thinking about putting a tort on my DD Sterling HH

"Real" tort would, I think, be made from tortoise shell.

It is not made from tortoise shell, nor is it a "photo".

I think what I'm asking is if they are Nitrocellulose? I can't remember.
Knowing its not photo is basically all I needed. I just don't like the way the photo tort looks.

Any EBMM dealer can order one for you. The tort guard on my 4HH Bongo is from EBMM.
