A couple of months ago I bought a set of T-I JF345 Flat Wound 5 String Bass Strings thinking I would put them on my SR5 fretless. Well my fretless sounds so good w/ Ernie Ball Reg. Slinkies Round Wound I can't even think about going to flats.
Anybody have a new set of T-I Powerbass 345's they want to trade even up? My flats are unopened in the package.

(Can't find any rules on posting trade ads so delete this thread if necessary)

I have a slightly used set of EB Reg. Slinkies on my five banger right now. Would you consider a trade? :p

A note about them, in case you're interested: The E and B string wrappings don't seem to make it past the nut when tuned to pitch. I've got a 34" scale bass w/ string-thru body. It hasn't affected my playing, but it has been a little nuisance in the back of my mind.

I have no Powerbass to trade, but in the VERY NEAR FUTURE I am going to need some TI Flats in a five string set.

If no one steps up, I'll just buy 'em from you.

Also, does anyone in the Dallas area need a smaller amp? I have an Ampeg B-50R that hasn't been used in months. Like new!

Sorry I am totally hooked on T-I PowerBass 345's now. The B-String is smaller and doesn't flop as much and they seem to last a long time.

That's cool. E-mail me your address and I'll just send them to you now; that way I won't misplace them, which tends to happen a lot. You can pay me whenever your next Bongo arrives (or trade for a couple of Bongo Shirts if E-B gives you the okey-dokey to make 'em). I'd be honored to have formerly owned the strings of a Bov-owned Bongo!

I'm about to get my US Curbow 5 string back after a refinish, and it's being tuned EADGC with Jazz Flats. I love the sound of it.

If you haven't tried them yet, I strongly recommend the TI Superalloys with a Bongo 5 string. They have smaller windings like the Jazz Rounds, but feel more like the Powerbass strings, but in traditional sizes (the B string is a .130"). I love the Powerbass B string, but the Superalloy feels just as nice. They are a little mellower than PBs going on, but they have only had one 4 hour gig on the Bongo, so I don't know what they will eventually settle to yet.

I was a huge advocate of Powerbass strings as the Kings of Nickel Roundwound Stringvilletownland, and they might have just been usurped. :D I'm going to do my best to post an mp3 tonight of the new SAs. I've got another set on the way from Dude for the fretless Bongo, too! Wheeeeeeee!

I've got some slightly used Powerbass strings from my Bongo that I'd trade ya, but that would be a bad trade on your end. But, you know, if you suck at haggling and stuff, feel free to take me up on my offer. ;) :p :D
