Trading in amp, combo suggestions?

Hello Again,

I recently received my dream bass and bought a new dream amp to go with it. I bought an Ampeg SVT 2-Pro (the all tube rackmount one) and a Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 1000 cabinet (go look at the mesa site if you haven't seen this. It's a monster!!!). This new amp will be staying at my jam space for band practice where I can crank it.

This leaves me with a very nice but way too heavy backup amp for my music room at home. It's an Ampeg SVT 5-Pro and an Ampeg BXT 410HL4 cabinet. I thought I was going to keep this one but I now want something that I can take to other friends houses for jamming without needing a second person or breaking my back. This one is getting traded in but not sure for what... I want a light combo that sounds good and is loud enough to play with a drummer and hopefully smaller shows but doesn't cost a hell of a lot. It needs to be new (or at least used at the music store) as well since I need to trade my amp in towards it.

I was wondering what people had for suggestions for 210 combos and the like. Alternately, I may get a small, light head and a 210 or 212 if it's light enough. The cab should be 4 ohms though to get the most power out of the head...

Please roll with the ideas!

By the way, I play lots of stuff from metal to funk. I love the eden stuff but I know their gear is pretty pricey. All suggestions are welcome.

Lightweight, powerful combo?

From what I'm hearing, check out Mark Bass.

The store in town that deals Mark Bass is awful. Their prices are really bad and I just don't like doing business with them. I buy as much of my stuff as I can from Long And McQuade who carries Ampeg, Mesa Boogie, Eden, GK, Yorkville, Fender and maybe a couple more that I can't think of right now... Suggestions out of those would be best.

GK 1001/212 combo rocks (as does the Eden 2x10 combo). Had a ton of experience with the GK and it has a good vibe to it. Love the tilt back transport design, not the lightest (78 lbs) but it rolls well and transports well... plus it has lots of power (LOTS). Good luck.

My lesson teacher uses the GK700 2x10 combo and it sounds real nice. He also does smaller gigs with it as well. Its also light and decently priced.

There's only one Mark Bass dealer in my city and they suck so Mark Bass is out of the question. As previously stated, I need to make a trade in on the new amp so buying online is also out of the question. I would love that Mesa venture but I believe I remember seeing it for like $1900 which is insane for a combo. Plus I think they're really heavy. That GK will be one I'll try out if they have it.

In most cases, if you trade in, they won't give you crap vs. if you sold it on the bay or tried selling it local.
