Anyone have a lead where I can pick up a Stingray this color?
I'm lusting after this color but it appears to be very rare. I think some lucky EBF member has one . . . so what's your price?;)

Hey mate, your bass is a real beaut!

Is that a custom job or did EB use that color? If so, what year is yours and do you know when was it discontinued?

Not selling, huh?

Yes, I agree. The grain of the wood adds a very nice touch to it! Like a flowing river of grace and beauty or something! Haha

By the way, what kind of case is that in the second pic? Looks mighty nice!

Really? I thought the MM SR cases looked more like hard plastic than fancy leather. Another reason to buy StingRays! You get an awesome case!

Mwahaha ;)

I don't know about the US, but in Australia (where Rod T and I live), the black tolex vintage style case is the standard issue Stingray case, or at least it was when I last bought a new Stingray in 2000. The cases are manufactured in the USA by G&G cases, and is the same style as the original case that came with my 1976 fretless Stingray.

Black Tolex (like in the 2nd pic) came with my '95 SR4 and '96 Sterling. I don't think they think EB issues this type anymore. Now they appear to use a hard plastic SKB-like case w/"Musicman" engraved. Looks nice.

Hey Guys...

>>>>Is that a custom job or did EB use that color? If so, what year is yours and do you know when was it discontinued?

It's an original EB finish. Date of birth for the Bass is May 1994. It was originally bought new by a tech at Seymour Duncan. He stored it untill Jan last year. Another tech bought it before it went to Tom ("PersonaTech") in North Carolina. Tom sold it to me in April/May last year.

The body pocket is marked "White T" which obviously stands for Transparent/translucent White. One piece of Ash for the body. I don't know when the colour was discontinued. I seem to remember seeing a Sterling with the same finish...I think it was a 1994 vintage aswell.

As Mark noted...it's a standard issue case and is the one that came with the Bass from North Carolina.

Can't part with this one Moondog...it's a Keeper.

Bummer . . . makes me want to buy a natural & a can of stain - seriously, I have no patience. If anyone can provide info on how to finish a bass in this manner, I'd appreciate it.
