Have any of you installed a cap or cap/resistor on the Axis SS volume that you have found (through experimentation or otherwise) to be particularly effective at maintaining treble/clarity as the volume is rolled off?

Haven't done it on my Axis, but I've done it on a few others. Wire a cap and resistor in parallel across the inside lug (the one connected to the pickups, not the output jack) and the middle lug of the volume pot.

Stew Mac has a good illustration here.

They use a 1 pF cap and a 150 K resistor. In my single coil guitars I've used 330 pF and 80 K. YMMV.
