How you have your springs configured depends really on whether you want some float in the bridge.
With 2 springs and the claw well forward you will probably end up with some float.
I'm using 10's 3 springs I I I with the claw wound up touching the body.
I therefore have no float and I can dive to get the "Hendrix" type things!!
If you set the springs in a V think back to your Maths Geometry lessons.
You are increasing the length of the spring therefore adding more resistance to the trem.
Thanks again, guys. The main reason I asked was to see if I could get my Petrucci trem to feel similar to the Axis floyd trem. The Petrucci trem to me seems a little stiffer and was wondering if going to two springs would make a huge difference. Couldn't remember if the Axis came with two or three springs from the factory.
