Hello All,

My JPMM has arrived! I'll post pics this weekend. I was going to do it last night but couldn't stop playing it.

Newbie question here as this is my first guitar with a trem (and I have searched all over this site and the web for an answer to this). So, obviously, the guitar was shipped set up but without the trem arm installed. It looks like from the arm itself that it should just "snap" in. I tried that a couple of times last night but didn't want to get too forceful with it. Am I being too gentle with it or does it not actually snap in?

Again, I thought this question would've already been asked and if it has, I can't seem to locate the answer. Thanks in advance for the replies!

dont worry about breaking it
just jam it in

if you really think its not going in properly
you could try loosening the trem screw located on the back of the bridge (you will have to depress the bridge slightly to see this)

but it should just snap in
and go all the way in
then when its in there if you want it to be tight (stay where you leave it)
you can tighten up that screw again

Drop the trem into the bridge, then push firmly with the base of your palm until it clicks into place.

Cool, thanks guys. I thought that's how it had to be (from the looks of it) but I put a fair amount of force into it last night and it wouldn't budge. I'll give it another try tonight. I was just worried about forcing it last night after paying what I paid for that thing!

Thanks again for the help!

Quick update. I had a chance to run downstairs before leaving for work this morning and it popped in after a little more force. Thanks again for all of the help.

When you want to remove it, I recommend putting your fingers around the bar (knuckles underneath it), with your thumb on top, right over the bend where the bar turns in toward the bridge. Grasp the bar this way and pull straight up.

Cool! Thanks again Steve! And GO STEELERS! My Dad's a Pitt grad and family grew up in Verona.

A friend of mine owns La Rose Jewelry in Verona. (That's where I bought my wife's engagement ring.)

I'm about 30 minutes from Verona, in the North Hills, but I get over that way a few times a year.

My wife got her undergrad at Pitt!
