Hey folks! I have some great news for everyone:

THE TREMOL-NO HAS BEEN LICENSED!!!

More info can be found here:
http://www.tremol-no.com/license.htm

Like the site says, don't hammer AllParts for units yet. Give them a few weeks to get them built and shipped to their door. Building 100 is pretty quick; building 10,000 takes a *little* more time. Let's hope for deliveries to start happening somewhere around Summer NAMM (a total guess, but...should be close to then).

Price: MSRP will be somewhere between $50 and $60, which includes the Deep-C.

The Tremol-No Classic will be the first model built. If all goes well, we will follow up with the Tremol-No Standard for all the Ibanez guys.

This is straight from the horse himself, Kev's psyched as hell and you should be too....I know I am...had the opportunity to rock one out and you cats are gonna LOVE this!

This is *radio edit* incredible! I have been waiting for years to hear these very words:

"Last, but certainly not least, is in the event of a string break if your Tremol-No™ and/or Deep-C™ are locked, you'll remain in tune."

Man I feel out of it - just what is it exactly? Does it fit in the cavity in the back of the guitar? It sounds like the Holy Grail for Floyd users.

If you visit the site it explains it nicely....I'll be getting the Drop C which will allow me to do Dives only on my floating trem equipped guitar...

Oh sure, now they're making them, now that I don't have any floating trems in my stable

Well you can always get one ;)

I am still not quite sure how it works - but still you have to wonder why it only just occurs to someone how to stabilize a floating trem - and why didn't I think of it myself.

I knew I should have done that engineering degree instead.

Wow, this looks really great - I'll probably be getting one of these for my JP guitar - the classic model is the one I want I assume??

Q?- Are there different models for different tremolo systems?
A- Yes. There are two models:
1. Tremol-No™ Standard for tremolo blocks with spring holes #2 and #4 tapped.
2. Tremol-No™ Classic for everything else (OFR, Wilkinson™, Fender®, etc).
The Tremol-No™ Classic will work on almost every trem except: Steinberger™, Parker™, Bigsby™, Wonderbar™, and Kahler™ 'flat mount' units.

Yeah but you might want the Deep C attachment!

Hello all, I'm new here. Couldn't resist this topic... I am very excited about this product.

I was thinking about other positive applications of the Tremol-no besides the obvious performance advantages with drop tunings and string breakage.

On my Ibanez Edges, for example, it will be super easy to just lock in "neutral", cut off all the strings, restring and tune up without needing a trem block! Now that's cool!

Even if you string up one by one, just being able to block it off at dead neutral and then tuning up to pitch before unlocking could save a lot of float problems. It may still need some spring adjustment after a putting on a new set, but re-stringing should be even easier now with this.

I am even more excited about the Deep C add on, since the cover band I may be joining will probably have me covering a lot of '90s crap that is tuned to drop Z or lower. :D This will enable me to use my main guitars without needing to go out a buy a guitar with a Wilky, or (gasp) a hardtail.

Awesome idea. I wish I was the one that will be getting rich with this concept! :)

Cool. I've sold my guitars with floating trems because I just couldn't make nice with them. (which is why i ordered an axis). There are some really cool guitars that i like with floating trems and now i can get them again. :)

Well, the advantage of not needing a trem block for string replacement/general cleaning or repairs is just a fringe benefit of the technology.

The real strength in the device is the ability to lock down the tremolo for drop tunings and/or conversion to hardtail for songs where ultra high bends are necessary (pedal steel like bends, etc.) by turning a thumb screw on the back. Unlike the Floyd add-on, this can be done on the fly without tools once it's installed. This is way better.

Plus, if you break a string durning a gig (especially when locked down on a song that doesn't need trem embellishments) you're golden because the whole guitar won't go out of tune like it would in float mode.

It's a very cool technology, and for only $60 or so bucks, it's very worth it. I can see this (or versions of it) becoming a classic add-on for all trem based guitars in the future... much like the locking tuner.

This is quite simply something that should have already been developed for floating trems by now. This is a great example of someone inventing something to fill a need when the lazy engineers of certain products just either don't care or don't get it. Floyds should have had something like this as a standard in their product evolution years ago.

I think it's brilliant. ;)

Ok, I thought you'd have to take it off to go back to floating. The thumb-screw on/off thing would make it useful if you had the need to do that I suppose.

Other than the fact that this retrofits over your springs and claw I don't really get the advantage of using it over a block of wood in the back like a lot of guys do, or something like this http://www.axcessories.com/products.asp?id=103 ? What am I missing here?
Or you can do what I did for 5.00 for a box of screws:
