Hi everyone,

I just bought my first Petrucci model and I love it. I do have one question.....Is there a way to tighten the tremolo bar to keep it from swinging down everytime you let go of it?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes,

Depress the tremolo arm and look at the bridge from the bottom while holding. You'll see a hex nut which sets the arm tension.

Thanks.......that's what I thought but I figured it's better to ask before I start changing things. Looks like you need a pretty short allen wrench to get in there. I see you're from Pittsburgh....so am I.

Thanks again,
Dave

Dave,

I can't remember the size of the hex for the trem arm.. I'm thinking 2mm but there's always a 50-50 chance I'm wrong. ;)

Yes, there are a few guys from the 'Burgh on this forum:

old_metal_head
PghTopCat
urwordsbreakmed

and another bass player.. I forget his 'nick', but his name's Tony.

We're getting some representation here!

So, you just bought this Petrucci... is it brand new?

Did you get the medallion gold one that Piano's-n-Stuff had in stock?

I have a Pearl Redburst JP6 with all options, and a quilt-top Morse Y2D which will be arriving in the very near future.

Yes, I bought the one at PNS.....but it's desert gold. It's loaded with all of the options and they gave me a pretty good deal on it. I was considering buying one from PMBlues but PNS worked with me on price so that I was walking out the door cheaper that PMBlues with the tax included! Desert Gold was the color that I wanted too. I love the pickup configuration, especially the clean sound you can get in the middle position. I have an Ibanez RG2020X that I wired the Petrucci way so I knew that's the sound I wanted (and this time I didn't have to make any modifications!)

Ahh, it was desert gold, yes.

I remember looking at it the last time I was down there. Stunning color.
Yeah, ALWAYS give those guys a shot at your business, they are great to work with. (esp. Jason the guitar manager, or Huey.)
