No doubt. I cant wait to get the CD - kind of unclear to me if one is imminent.
I loved this stuff when I first checked out his site a few months back. The new stuff is great as well. I mean these are some strong strong songs. Talent.

Just checked out his Myspace.

Didn't like what I heard at first, but it grew on me in about 20 seconds.

An hour later I'm still listening to it !

His Def Leppard influences really show.

Honestly, I'd hate having a guitar god as my dad. Cos if you get into the same line of work, you'll be judged constantly, and always in a shadow, unless you're so good or different that people are willing to overlook the parentage... It's always harder to succeed due to a preconception people have of you. Even if you get a great headstart because of the training your Dad can give you, we're not all genetically born that way, and if you fall short, everyone will be a critic.

I hope Trev makes it, cos he does sound good, though a wee bit poppish for my liking.

I'd like Trev's material irrespective of the Lucious link. Just would have been harder to come across it.

Will be interesting to see how he progresses, some good songs there.

Met Trev at the Desert Bash....VERY cool guy with a hip sense of humor and obviously extremely talented...he is going to do very well for himself and I can't wait to see it happen.

Love the layered vocals, - great voice - the guitar sound is right up my street.
Would love to have seen the bass higher in the mix a la Living Colour - however I am playing this through desktop 2 " speakers so It would prolly sound much better on a hi fi.
(Uhh I guess I should say would definitely sound better on a Hi fi!)

Gosh now I'm hearing a brass arrangement on one of his tracks- cool!

I'll be getting the CD or better still DVD? (if one is made)

I like the vocals too. You can hear his dad's influence, but at the same time, it is clearly his own stuff. I'm really enjoying it.

I posted in the general talk forum about him a few months ago... I learned that no one must read there because no one said anything about him really.

I've become quite the fan...

Trev's tunes are new sounding with some great old school rock stylings thrown in...love it! Poppa Luke might have a little bit to do with that influence...:D

White strat how about sending us your myspace page so we can critique it on the same page?

Heh heh... BP, I think you're misreading me. I'm not criticising anything, just stating what I prefer.

But that wasn't the point of my post. I was refering to guys who constantly have to face people judging them by their parent's famous performances. People like Julian Lennon, Rosanne Cash and Lisa Marie Presley. I mean, the pressure they must face... I'm not sure I'd like to be in their shoes.

My point is that in Trev's case, it must be harder for him to do this than most of us will see or know, because he faces such a pressure as well.

Got to hang a little with Trev at the VH concert back in DEC '07. By that time I had heard a few of his tunes and was wowed. Especially the voice and arranging.
Hope to one day hear him live in LA.

BTW he loves the blue dawn color on the LUKE!

Smart man. Uh....kid. I think he's like 21.

Hehe...Ok, this is a hijack, but I got my hands on Luke's CD by just watching for it to go 'in stock' with an Amazon reseller. Amazon doesn't have them (they immediately went 'out of stock' on the UK release date). However, I got lucky by selecting and buying from one of the "x new and used from..." vendors. I paid twice the price of a normal CD, but I figured Luke was worth it. :D

Supposedly it goes on sale in the US at the end of April. It's a monster CD...I've been playing it over and over and over since I got it.

On Trev's CD, I don't know if or when he plans to put one out - the only info I have came from his MySpace page. We need SonOfLucious to join the forum. Heck he's already got his signature guitar (although nobody else can buy it)! :D

My Kid

Hey guys, thanks alot for the kind words about Trev. I love his stuff.
Yeah, there is the Def Leppard thing but he LOVES them. Rick Allen the drummer was my next door neighbor for 10 years. Trev used to go play double drums with him when he was like 6. haha
Trev LOVES classic rock, Journey, VH, all that **** and yeah, my stuff too but I think he is well on his way to finding his own vibe. He is still young. He is NOT a shredder guitar player. He likes simple soulful melodic stuff. He is not SRV either. He loves all the great players of course, most are my friends and he hangs. Slash think alot of him as well and has been good to him.
I am real proud and he played and co wrote 2 tunes on my solo record and has great studio chops. Live on the date with Abe laboriel jr and Sklar and Babko.. he was killin it. I was f-ing proud. We have done some sessions together as well and he just has what it takes in the studio and is a total hambone on stage. The kid aint shy. hahaha
He is just now working on finishing his stuff and finding the RIGHT home for it. He has been offered some ****ty deals. They are almost ALL ****ty these days. These record co.'s want what is called a 360 deal. They own MOST of your rights on live gigs, merch, publishing etc.. its insane. Worse than the 60's. Indie is where to go but there is little money up front and the kid has to eat. Catch 22. I am sure alot of you guys know that.
In any event check his myspace out. www.myspace.com/Trevbabay. He is a character and I love him. We are closer than close.
On a lighter note, Tokyo is awesome. We just did our first show with Boz Scaggs opening and it was a blast. Great hang and the tour is sold out and my solo record is wailing over here as well. Its nice to get some love... Yee ha.
Anyway, I will check in soon and thanks and respect to you all.
Lucious

Heheh.....I'm a closet Def Leppard and Journey fan myself. They're not real big up here in hippy thick Phish lovin' Vermont. Finally caught DL in Montreal a few years ago (my first time ever). They were great!

Luke, thanks for the update - glad to hear that the tour is going well. Is Trev going to do any shows with you on your solo tour? It would be cool to catch you both! :)
