I went to San Antonio this weekend (again) and stopped by The House of Guitars. They had an axis, a luke, and a silo.
I had already tried the axis the previous weekend in Austin and absolutely loved the rosewood neck/fretboard combo (probably the best neck I've ever felt). Now, I had the chance to try the Luke, the guitar I almost purchased before buying my koa schecter. I did like the neck and although it is a little small, still feels more comfortable than my schecter. The V shape that so many refer to was there, but to be honest, I really couldn't feel it. If anything it adds to the comfort of playing a smaller neck as opposed to the standard u necks (schecter koa).
What really impressed me about the luke was the variation of sounds from the guitar. I've never played anything with emgs, but these pickups sounded incredible, especially mixing the bridge and middle p/u (I really liked that one). Unfortunately, the guitar had a "new" guitar price, but had been used by someone who returned it in exchange for a prs.

Question:
Can/will EBMM make me a luke guitar with an all rosewood axis profile neck? These are bolt-on, right?
Thanks,

No
and
Yes

This question has been raised numerous times. Although they are bolt ons, EBMM won't mix and match outside of standard available optins for each model.

Hmmm. Vhat to do, vhat to do?
I guess I could always buy the rosewood axis, route out a hole for a middle single coil, then buy the lukather emg set-up with pickguard and viola!
Just kidding.
